The Forge team has helped build and defend the reputations of some of the world’s leading brands and counselled clients on some of the most high-profile crises of the past decade.

The team’s work spans the public, private and not for profit sectors, and industries including energy, infrastructure, property, technology, financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, food and beverage, agriculture and automotive.

Forge is supported by a network of partners who bring specialist expertise in complementary disciplines, including market research, government relations, community engagement and creative branding and design.

Scott Thomson, Partner

Scott’s career has spanned 25 years and three continents, advising some of the world’s most valuable brands.

 

Before co-founding Forge, Scott spent 18 years at Edelman, the world’s largest public relations network. He held leadership posts in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, latterly as managing director in Australia and Corporate Practice leader for South Asia, India and Australia. 

 

Scott has worked across a diverse client base, from international household brands to start-ups, hyper-local enterprises and not-for-profits. He has led programs for Microsoft, Unilever, Shell, Starbucks, Mitsubishi Corporation, Volkswagen, UPS, Diageo, KPMG, various government departments and many others. 

 

His work has involved long-term reputation-building through corporate branding, storytelling and executive coaching, through to more discrete projects concerned with achieving specific commercial or reputational outcomes. He has also supported clients on some of the most significant crises of the past two decades, helping with planning, real-time crisis response, and post-incident reputation recovery. 

 

Throughout his career, Scott has come to appreciate the awesome power of narratives. He is devoted to responsibly harnessing that power for the benefit of clients and society.

 

Scott sits on the Board of Linden New Art, a pioneering public gallery in the City of Port Phillip.

Amy Watson, Partner

Amy’s experience extends across the spectrum of corporate communications. She has led projects in corporate branding and positioning, media and stakeholder relations, executive profiling, employee engagement, and issues management for clients in infrastructure, natural resources, financial services, retail, real estate, food and beverage, waste management and government. 

 

Prior to co-founding Forge Communications, Amy worked at Edelman, where she specialised in crisis and issues management and strategic corporate communications. Amy was a market lead for executive positioning and helped establish the sustainability speciality for the Australian business. Prior to Edelman, Amy worked at specialist corporate communications and branding firms.

 

Amy believes communication is a critical pillar in achieving positive societal outcomes and is passionate about helping clients develop and share authentic stories that make a difference to their entire stakeholder base.
